SMG was founded in 1977 to manage its first account, the Louisiana Superdome. Since its founding it has grown to 168 facilities. These facilities benefit from the company's depth of resources and its unparalleled expertise, leadership, and creative problem-solving. At this time SMG manages 69 arenas, 7 stadiums, 49 convention centers, 33 performing arts centers, and 10 other recreational facilities.

SMG-managed facilities grossed more than $1 billion in 2002, hosting 8,832 events and attracting more than 46 million patrons. Our ownership and team of dedicated corporate support personnel make us unrivaled in the field of private facility management. SMG is a joint venture in general partnership form with two equal principals: The Hyatt Hotel Company and ARAMARK corporation.
