Royals Ready to Don New Uniforms Team Unveils New Official Home and Away Looks at Monday’s Town Hall Meeting August 22, 2011 Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL unveiled the team’s new official home and away uniforms at the organization’s annual Town Hall Meeting held this evening at the Sovereign Center in Reading, Pennsylvania. The new uniforms, which feature distinct designs for the ‘dark’ and ‘light’ versions in the team colors of Royal purple, white, silver and black, are the third official home and road uniforms that the team has worn since the organization’s inception in 2001. “We wanted to give our fans who attended tonight’s Town Hall Meeting the first opportunity to see our new look,” said Royals General Manager Mark Wallace. “We’re thrilled with the uniform designs, which we believe embody a unique effort to pay due respect to hockey’s heritage while capturing the speed and intensity of the modern game. The design is the product of a collective effort within our organization, and our director of merchandising, Gregg Lewis, deserves considerable credit for pulling the project together. We can’t wait to see the 2011-12 Royals take the ice.” Color diagrams of the team’s new uniforms were displayed at tonight’s Town Hall Meeting, which featured presentations by the Toronto Maple Leafs’ Vice-President of Hockey Operations, Dave Poulin, and the Stanley Cup Champion Boston Bruins’ Assistant General Manager, Don Sweeney, along with Royals’ Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Larry Courville and General Manager Wallace. In addition to unveiling the team’s new uniforms, the Royals’ organization made several important announcements during this season’s Town Hall Meeting, including providing details regarding the team’s 2011-12 radio and television broadcasts. The TMH also addressed several other issues including the current state of the ECHL, the Royals 2011-12 roster, recent player personnel decisions and transactions, certain special aspects of the organization’s promotional schedule, and the recent reduction of parking rates at city-operated garages near the Sovereign Center. The Royals face the Cincinnati Cyclones in the team’s 2011-12 ECHL home opener on Saturday, October 22, 2011 (7:05 pm). Royals’ season tickets are currently available.
